#  Policy for the Safety and Protection of Minors

In April 2015, Harvard adopted a new [Policy for the Safety and Protection of Minors](http://youthprotection.harvard.edu/policy) to ensure the safety of minors who are on campus, or who interact with Harvard-run programs. The policy establishes: guidelines for interactions with minors; a requirement to report to HUPD any instance of suspected abuse or neglect of a minor; education for those who interact with minors and those who oversee programs for minors; and background screening for those in certain positions of responsibility for minors in University programs.
