Client Advisory: Copyright Claims Board

In late 2020, Congress passed the Copyright Alternative in Small-Claims Enforcement Act of 2020 (CASE Act), which directed the Copyright Office to create a Copyright Claims Board (CCB) to hear copyright infringement claims. The CCB is intended to be a less expensive, user-friendly alternative to federal court. The CCB can hear claims of up to $30,000. The proceedings are entirely electronic and remote. Update to OGC Operations in Response to the COVID-10 Pandemic

March 23, 2020

Harvard University has curtailed normal operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, the Office of the General Counsel is closed.  Beginning March 24, 2020, the OGC will be unable to receive U.S. Postal Mail, facsimile messages, or other deliveries until Governor Baker's order of March 23 is lifted.  Process servers should serve papers in hand during normal business hours at the Harvard University Police Department located at 1033 Massachusetts Ave, 6th Floor, Cambridge, MA.
